PROJECT: TeleTBIA U. S. Army-wide telemedicine network has been established to treat Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) that occur in locations that are great distances from the medical facilities .Electronic Information Carrier (EIC)The primary military purpose of the Electronic Information Carrier (EIC) is to provide a complete medical record that the soldier carries with them and can access when and when it is needed.Transcranial Doppler (TCD)Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a non-invasive technique using brain ultrasound to assess and monitor cerebral vascular activities in order to prevent patients from suffering further ischemic injuries to the brain.Joint Capability Technology Demonstrations (JCTD)Robotics and unmanned systems are developed and fielded in rapidly increasing numbers. Their numbers and rate of deployment will continue to accelerate as missions on than the traditional intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and explosive ordnance disposal missions are addressed.Army Knowledge Online (AKO)The concept AKO Teleconsultation Program originated at a dermatology conference in September 2003. Army dermatologists determined that a formal user-friendly teleconsultation program did not exist to support deployed military healthcare professions supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. |
